On doing an hpi check, this has come up on the Mot list, any ideas guys?

yes I agree, but the thing is it didn’t even need an mot then, and the van has only done 48200 now?

I’ve been a mechanic for twenty four years now and I get carried away looking at cars and can miss stuff, don’t be worried to walk mate if your unsure there will be others, got anyone else to tag along another set of eyes always helpful and distract the seller so you can proper look

Yes I’m prepared to walk don’t worry, no, only me unfortunately, but I’ve done the homework, just a matter of eyes and instincts now

Clearly some sort of private hire - MOT when not needed every 6 months
Try vcheck.uk as they give a lot more info than HPI

Well it was perfect inside, drove nice, but my pet hate the bodywork was crap, both sliding doors were rippled to hell and the body line was all over the place on them, disappointed but onwards and upwards. If anyone else mentions this van, point them in my direction for a heads up

VCheck.uk confirmed it was a taxi from aug 2019 to Aug 2020. (I paid the 2.99)
In its first 6 months of taxi it did 27k miles.
In the second 6 months it did 3k.

Covid would have reduced the mileage, but not sure it would have reduced it that much

well that does surprise me, the bodywork yes, but as I said the inside, dash and all seats were what I’d class as immaculate, unusual for a taxi, unless they were reupholstered or replaced at some point.
