My first campervan - bought and brought home

Here’s Dilly, checking out camping life in September. Following her approval, the hunt for a van started, and yesterday the deal was done and the van brought home. Very exciting new venture for us!

Thank you! The one (first?) thing I need to change, discovered at about 4pm driving the van home, was to improve the headlights! I’d read that the T6 lower spec vehicle lights were pretty poor… but didn’t imagine they’d be THAT poor!! I hope retrofitting led headlamps won’t cost an arm and a leg as I’ve already spent those!

I upgraded the H4 candles to H7 headlights and the difference is great and was £200 and 90mins work on the drive.

H7's and a bit of coding will sort you put, shop smart and sub £100 is possible

Built by Jerba Campervans in North Berwick 2 years ago. Top quality fittings. Just a few little tweaks, the first being LED headlamps if I can afford them!

A nice set of Clayton alloys would look good on your van. Just happens I have an immaculate set up for sale and I'm in the North-East

Swapped mine for H7s and coded them last week, driving over the Peak District in the dark last night was much easier.

Check out the H4 to H7 upgrade thread, simple-ish and great value for a big improvement.

I’ll have to look up Reimo later…but the roof was done by vw and the bed is a RIB… ha, maybe R stands for Reimo…or not?!. If I sound like ignoramus, I’ll be the first to admit it. Am here to learn what I need to, (a lot) so will appreciate any enlightenment!

The roof certainly isn't VW as the only high roof VW supply has high wing doors on the back.

Here are three of my conversions, the one in the middle is a VW high roof, the others are Reimo.



You may well be correct in that the seat/bed is RIB.

Thanks for the offer, but changing the wheels is low on my shopping list, so you’ll have sold them long before I reach that page!
