Why not just put the mud flaps on when your wife takes it out in that case.

they do keep the crap from flicking up the front doors I never fitted the rears

I bought front and rear VW ones the front ones are on and the rear ones ended up in the bin and I have bought after market rear ones that don't need screwing to the rear bumper but it has been too cold to fit them yet

i'm crazy with you. Reading this thread the other day this is exactly what I was thinking. That's odd for me as I don't like the vw logo everywhere, but I do like these flaps.
