Meet your little brother tow car T0.6

Yes , having a removeable braked A frame fitted to the Up, and a towbar to T6. Really great company in Longton Staffordshire called Towtal. Very helpful.

Self steering, free wheeling a bit like someone following me really really closely.

The dream is the T6 adventures, the hope is to mix being in the best campsite for space, scenery and calm, but then unhitch and nip to the beach or bakery in the Up

The reality might be different, but owning another VW seems less painful :)

@DubFro some of the sites I've been to the access roads are proper narrow and farmers and locals don't give a f**k YOUR the one reversing so you better be a bit tasty at reversing and today I will be nipping to the beach in a T6
Good luck

I get that people with motorhomes tow little cars because motorhomes are too big to park at the shops etc, but a T6 doesn't take up much more space than an estate car.

As for reversing, I've often wondered if the car can be used to pull the van backwards?

I considered doing something similar when I had a motorhome, but if there's one thing locals hate more than wally wagons and campers its outsiders clogging up their streets and parking all over the place, so I never did.

I even have a "not an Emmet" sticker on the Wife's car so we don't get keyed when visiting family!

Seems completely unnecessary as being mobile is the advantage of a T6 over a big ugly motorhome (or MAN tge!) but we don’t like moving once on a site (personally I have a push bike for that!)

But I do love the idea, love that they are matching colours and want to see photos of it hooked up! 😍

Solid advice much appreciated.
We are golfers too, so once set up camp able to do that without unhooking the awning etc
I will pick and choose level of feedom needed and the b roads and already understand the reversing issue, luckily I am not a caravan.
Its a journey for me from a meticulous planner to just going with the flow that T6 freedom gives everyone

Many years ago some friends of ours used to tow one of those little honda mini pickups behind their race transporter until they left it in 1st gear by mistake! By the time they got home engine and gearbox were not good to say the least!

Even worse some companies actively sell automatics, which with my basic knowledge don't particularly tow well at the best of times

I will be making a checklist LOL

@Sasquatch correct me if I'm wrong but is towing little car the same as a trailer 60mph limit on motorways

When i looked at the photo , I ( wrongly ) assumed the motorhome delivery was imminent.

A kader strip removes in seconds , and the van realigned and connected, slightly quicker the hooking up a little tow car.

Reinventing the wheel (badly) springs to mind.

However everyone is different, and good luck with it

I think it's a great idea. Primarily because my Mrs won't drive the van. No excuses with a citi car for her to play with. Although she'd likely disappear off shopping in it for hours on end whilst we're away. She'd have to be the designated driver as well because I'd park a few bevvies every time we go out in it. I'm almost convinced I need one now 🤣🤣

Congrats to @DubFro, of all the threads on here persuading us to buy all sorts of must have accessories for camping in the van a car has to be by far the most expensive!

Yet I still can't find a suitably priced widget to adjust driver side air vent when button fell off .. see my other thread, £15 for a widget

And yes i have inconsistency issues in my life and wallet
