Had a low coolant level warning this morning. When I looked at the expansion tank it was about 1cm below the minimum mark but the cap was fully unscrewed and just sat on the top of the threads. Van was in for a service a couple of weeks ago but I can't think why they'd have removed it :cautious: Drive 35 miles in to work and the level hasn't changed.

Possibly to check the coolant properties.

I had a similar thing to that. The light and dash asked for the van to be taken to a service centre. I topped up the coolant the last cm and the light went out.

Funny, old car manuals told you how to set the spark plug gap, but modern vehicles suggest asking aveh tech to look at it when the coolant gets a little low...

Jeez . . . . Hope everything is ok.

Possible antifreeze check, but not screw back on?

Suppose only the mechanic will know,

Could be work a quick call to the garage, to ask the service advisor to ask the tech.....? Just out of curiosity?

I do a job where you are doing the same thing every day hundreds of times a week. You dont remember the specifics of what you have done - only when something unusual occurs. Bit like locking the front door!

I doubt the mechanic will remember but worth calling the garage.
