Our van has been having some issues!
This has been happening for a few weeks now. Initially noticed it driving locally one day when the acceleration seemed to be sluggish and a bit juddery. On the same journey there was a massive judder that really worried me. Finished my journey went to the shop and then got back in, no issues. This was the case for a few weeks. Then whilst on holiday in Pembrokeshire I noticed the sluggish acceleration again. Then it started to stall. Did this a couple of times but fortunately got us home no issues (almost a 5 hour journey). Seemed ok but then one day it wouldn’t initially start after a short journey. After a few goes it did start and I got it home no issues. I’d lost faith by this point so booked it in for a due service and mentioned the issues to the mechanic. There’s been no engine warning lights. I’ve included the diagnostic report. No faults showing. The mechanic replaced the crank sensor because he thought from his experience it could be that. Ran fine for 5 days and then yesterday as we got on the motorway it happened again. A judder and loss of acceleration. My wife was driving so she pulled off the motorway and dropping down an exit to a roundabout it stalled and took a few goes to get started again.
I’ll have to take it back. Just can’t trust it to keep doing this and worried about having an accident! Just wondering if anyone has had similar? I replaced the battery in December. It’s had an EGR pipe replaced in January too due to it being cracked and we were smelling fumes in the cab. It has had an EGR valve replacement a couple of years ago. 95% of the time I put Shell v power diesel in. Any help, advice or pointers would be most welcome.
