Looking to buy high top/LWB transporter for around £15000

Hi newbie here.
I’m looking for a high top long wheelbase transporter as a base van for our camper van project.
Our budget is around 15 grand, possibly a bit more, but really struggling to find anything online.
It could be that our budget is not enough and that maybe we should be looking more at T5s but can’t seem to find any of those online either.
We don’t really want to buy a low top and convert as the end result isn’t as good and it puts on about £4000 towards the overall cost.
Anyone know where one might be for sale or have any advice for us?
Thanks in advance

Super uncommon, so really it will be a case of waiting or traveling. there is 1 T5 and 1 T6 on ebay, but i expect you will already have found those.

Personally, i think id probably jump to a SWB Crafter (CR30 / CR35) if LWB/Hightop Transporter is top of the wanted list. I personally prefer the looks of it compared the high top transporter and they are more readly available, though trying to find one thats not been to the moon and back may be a challenge.

I think with a budget of 15K you aren’t going to get a van in great condition, it’s highly likely that the 4K would be needed for repairs and unforeseen maintenance.
Don’t blow it all on the van.

Thats had a hard life if the MOT history is anything to go by.

In and of itself not such an eye opener, but its mainly stuff that would have been apparent and should have been sorted long before the test rolled around. It doesnt speak well for the attitude to maintenance of its last owner. I mean, what kind of owner presents a van for a test with the engine wally light on?

If you are set on a LWB Highroof the my two pennith worth would be don’t limit yourself to UK.
They are a more common site in Europe but depends on what spec your after.
I had a T5 a few years back that I got in Germany as it had been originally purchased by an army lad direct from VW in RHD.
May be changed days but worth a look

We have a 2017 high roof window van.
It was previously WAV and did have the wheelchair lift when we got it.
The previous user had obviously been a little careless with it as it has been “repaired!” It would benefit from said repairs being redone.
It had 56,000 miles on it when we got it just under two years ago. It was a rare beast, being dsg. So the paint imperfections are forgivable.
Not since found similar available and at the time we paid £27.5k.
While you are not seeking auto, I think you are going to be looking for a long time to get your ideal vehicle at your budget.
Strangely, locally to me there are five other high roof I regularly pass.

We managed to buy a 2019 LWB for just shy of £15k earlier in the year, but without the high top. In good nick, perhaps higher than average mileage but it had the tailgate, 150bhp, 6-speed, air con, package. Make of that what you will.
