Life with Nelson the T6.1 Acura Camper

I need to look into replacing what I have in more depth, not yet had chance mind! I was thinking leave the brackets in place for the round one currently fitted and replace the bars but I have no idea what make they are! They look like van style..
I have a plan in mind though :)
I doubt you'll be able to unbolt the bars from the brackets. The captive nuts will likely detatch at the first glimpse of a spanner. Rhe bracket bolts will likely be not far off giving way either. Good luck with it though. Sorry to be pessimistic on your thread 😁

One way or t’other they’ll get sorted! I ain’t worried, Leighton Vans is close to work I’ll get there’s and swap them on works time!

@MorkC68 Your van is the same Acura conversion as mine.
I got mine from Southlands Motor Company in Whitley Bay. Mine has the same sidebars fitted.
Give Lee at Southlands a ring. He’s a helpful fella who will point you in the right direction re replacements.

That’s great, thank you for the information, much appreciated buddy!

Lee got back to me, he said they would be Van Style, which are a quick to pop over to from ours!

Again, thanks for the info!

Well, I tackled the side bars Friday with great success!

For some unknown reason, lady luck was on my side - the first bolt sheared, which I'm fine with and the other three came undone relatively easy, bit of brute force but they undid.

The brackets looked fine as did the bolts holding them to the chassis and the new bars went on a doddle!

:)

Spare time on my hands Friday, was given a choice of helping with housework or going out of the way..

Out of the way it is then :D

Painted the brake calipers all round, I'm pleased with how they look!

I did, however, help with housework afterwards!

Next plan, get some Carnuba Wax and give the paintowrk a good going over and maybe a pair of ClimAir Wind Deflectors.

Last friday Nelson was booked into Professional Retrofits to have front foglights fitted.

Service was good, took 2 1/2 hours in all and that included fitting and coding with the cornering light function enabled.

I was at Crowdecote last weekend - nice little site and great walks - lovely route to the Cheshire Cheese in Longnor!
