I thought I’d share my experience after a recent visit to CRS Performance in Cannock, as forum posts really helped me make the decision.
My van is a T6.1 T30 camper and comfort was the priority. I’ll admit I was initially a little hesitant due to the outlay, but after speaking with CRS I felt confident it was the right route to take.
Steve is exactly as people say – very knowledgeable and a very friendly guy. He took the time to talk me through the different options and explain what would best suit what I wanted. In my case that was comfort, so we went with a CRS Definition setup using Koni dampers, CRS Evo rear springs and adjustable spring seats, along with Powerflex front arm bushes. They also removed the Junk Pro Sport suspension that was
The whole team were great. Rob kept us well looked after with coffee and plenty of stories, and the atmosphere was relaxed. I was there for around 3.5 hours, but the time went surprisingly quickly. I had a good chat with another customer while waiting and was told people even travel from places like Poland to have work done here.
As part of the setup, the van was raised from around 50 mm to around 70 mm to give the suspension more working travel and suit the camper weight.
Once finished, I drove the van on a proper test drive with Rob, deliberately going over bumps and potholes to make sure I was happy.
The difference is exactly what I hoped for. You still feel the road, but the van no longer crashes into bumps or potholes, so I don’t find myself bracing anymore. The ride is far more controlled and planted, handling feels improved, and road noise also seems better.
I travelled up from Bristol and it was well worth the trip. The workshop is easy to get to and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend CRS, especially if you’re running a camper and comfort matters.
