Leisure battery charger location

I have installed a leisure battery under my drivers seat and have one of the Victron Blue Smart chargers to maintain it once I install my 240v system with hook up, what would be the best location for my battery charger? Should I try and fit it under the drivers seat and then run the plug/240 wire back to the CU in the back of the van or place the charger in the back of the van and run the pos and neg cables forwards?

Does the charger need to connect directly to the leisure battery or can I hook it up to my 12v feed to my fuse box in the back of the van?

Cheers

Our charger is near the back of the van where the EHU comes in. This was just the most convenient place to put it.
It then connects to the 12v input into the fuse box, which in turn is connected to the leisure battery under the drivers seat.
As long as you use decent sized wire with good connections, then you will be fine.
The advantage of the charger near the EHU point is that you are keeping the mains wiring short, so less chance of frayed mains wiring.

Spot on thanks Pete, I did think this could be a logical way to do it as opposed to running the hook up cables through the B pillar and under the seat.

Cheers :D

My fuse box feed is a 10mm2 cable with a 50A in line breaker so should be more than sufficient for my 10A charger. Thanks for the tips
