Just a heads up for anyone fitting a Leighton tailgate spoiler to a 6.1. It’s comes with M6 studs and nuts and some rubber pads. It should have also come with instructions looking online but it didn’t. Anyway how hard can it be? Transfer the M6 holes on to the tailgate drill some 6.5mm holes through both skins, open up the one inside so the 10mm nut can pass through and using the supplied hardware to bolt it on and shove a grommet in the hole. Nope. The tailgate is triple skinned in that area which means the studs are not long enough and even if they were the middle skin would be in the way, there is also wiring passing through that area and that could be easily damaged. Presumably for the heated rear screen. I could have binned the studs and got some exact length M6 bolts but I wasn’t keen on having exposed bolts. Anyway I gobbled some sealant in the holes and glued it on. It’s fine and I’d recommend that’s the way to do it. On a side note, I’ve ordered twice from Leighton now and although the quality is first class, both times items were missing parts/instructions and it’s taken two phone calls each time to get them to send them out.
