Ok so I'm ready to start fitting some simple /basic 12 volt electrics in back of van been looking at some switch panels with switch indicator LEDs and little screen showing battery condition my concern is don't all these little lights annoy the hell out of you when trying to sleep. What did you do about it.

All of my switches did annoy me so wire up not to illuminate now ( it was far too bright in the dark )

I fed all my pushbutton LEDs from a PWM controller turned right down, they glow just enough to locate them in the dark.

My battery condition monitor needs pressing to view it, I have 200 amps to play with so it’s not something I’m mindful of.

I chose switches that didn’t illuminate, or I made sure I could turn them off. Far too bright otherwise in a T6.

Ok guy's thanks for the replies so if I bought one of the switch panels with illuminated switches and battery monitor could I fit switch to turn whole panel off?

What about the switches with surrounds are they called cbe or something they look good and not illuminated? any recommendations would be appreciated thanks.Jonner

I can't see a problem with that, can you post a photo or image of what you have bought?

Control panels usual have a master on/off switch on them.

Also wondering when not using van should a switch be incorporated to shut down electrics in back of van.

It sounds daft but you could switch the ground connection to the illuminated switches, one switch with a common ground for all of them, wouldnt affect their operation but would turn the leds off. Now the question is, should that switch be illuminated? ;)
