Evening all.

Away in France and have happened to notice some kind of leak on the NS in the vehicle (on the steering rack boot and all over the CV inner boot.

Checked all levels, and all are where I marked them at before we left a couple of weeks ago.

Viscosity is kind of watery and not really oily. I’m sure it’s nothing to do with the PAS.

Appreciate I need to clean it off and assess, but thinking it’s a CV Inner boot and perhaps seal gone/ on its way out.

Any thoughts or experience from anyone?

A difficult one, I'm going to suggest that (at your own risk, of course!) you drive gently and get it attended to as soon as you get back to Blighty. Keep an eye on all fluid levels as you travel.
More importantly, you need to be sure that any such leak isn't contaminating the brake discs, that's a whole different story!

Thanks David, that’s the plan. I only drive at steady speeds so I’ll keep an eye on it.

This is a fantastic shout. It’s quite watery and it could well be that… I’ve noticed the water from the AC dripping down here.

+1 for aircon condensate - in hot humid weather it dribbles everywhere around the NS. If it completely dries up overnight, it's water.

Would it leave any residue marks, or totally disappear (silly question I know)

Pop the bonnet battery side on the bulkhead there's a grommet with a spout t check there see if you can see water coming out and tracking down to where it is. More than likely Aircon condensate if it's watery.

Looks like I’ve made the thread twice, so going to say this one’s dead. Added some more pictures to the other thread, it’s certainly an oil type leak…possibly DSG from the top bolt that gets the “VW Epoxy Fix”

Maybe a link to the other thread would be a good idea for others for future reference?
