Lashing Points - Drilled holes?

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody has come across this before ......

I bought a T6.1 last year and I've recently ordered an ovano XL which is due to be delivered next week.
I was clearing the van last night to make ready for the install and noticed the rear lashing points were not symmetrical.
I took the covers off and can see the previous owner has had new holes drilled and rivnuts installed - Same for the mid points.

Does anybody know whey they would have done that?

I wonder why they didn't drill the pre defined holes.
I've not had chance to look under to check to see if the original nuts and bracket are installed. I'm away this weekend so will have to do when I return.

I think its going to affect the install of the ovano (I've already contacted them)

But also is this safe?

Any comments appreciated.

Yes, it’s been converted from a panel van to a Kombi. I’d have thought though the underside nuts would be there.
Looks like panel vans have the two bolt lashing rings, Kombis have the single bolt ... still very odd. You need to have a look underneath.

My factory kombi 6.1 just had single bolt holes and I saw in the YT videos for the recent Combe Valley Campers 6.1 panel van conversion theirs had two.

Can you get underneath to see what they are like on the other side? My single fixing tie downs simply have an angle plate with a weld nut on riveted to the chassis.

Might be easier to remove to drill out or replace them? Not sure of the double fixings are the same.
