Kombi Storage with Forty Winks Bed

Good afternoon all,

We have had our kombi T6.1 for a few months and fitted a forty winks bed system which is great.

Just now looking for inspiration on storage ideas to fit around the bed and triple bench seat. I have seen the slide out draws you can add underneath the bed frame but wondering if people have anything else on the sides or up above the bed which may be good to try.

Many thanks

Don't have a forty winks bed. Made up my own Kombi bed set up that utilised slim line arch storage boxes with top access. Made two rear quarter wall units and a shelf to bridge the gap. These were made allowing for the extra height of the Kombi bed and attached with rivnuts fitted to factory trim clip holes. Under the triple seat I have 2 simple slide under front opening boxes held in by large velcro straps to the seat frame and a step cupboard(idea for a one burner) that simply bolts to the N/S under seat box. All units are easily removable if seat removal is needed. This set up gives good amount of storage and there still the massive boot space under the rear bed section. I set up a half width slide out to hold a fridge and cooker/sink box.

That looks really good! Great idea.

Did you make all the units yourself? The lightening is a great addition.

Do you have units at the top of the walls in the back as well?

Im not sure i would be able to have a top box due to the way the bed ‘hinges out’ flat (unless i just leave it flat and remove units if i ever need to fold bed)

Thanks alot for the pics and taking the time to reply

Yes. All made myself. Have made all my units in 3 previous vans after paying a professional who did a job that I could have done better!. As regards to the slide out I was restricted with space due to having to fit my wife's power chair into the boot area. Hence a flat board for the fridge; no room for sides. My son welded up a sort of H frame that connects to the 4 rear cargo bolts. All this is in fact no longer fitted to the van as with advancing old age it was decided that we needed more living space and a 1250 3 seater Titan bed fitted. So now more units to build!.
