Kombi Convert Help

Hi all, I've had a T5 for over 8 years but just bought a T6 LWB highline 150 and want to convert to a kombi. It's primarily a work van (sparky) so I'll be racking out the rear and I don't need anything too blingy just pretty standard in the back mainly for the kids. I have a couple of questions and would be happy for any general advice too. I had a double rear seat fitted to my T5 on a rail that I could take in and out by unbolting and am thinking of using the same local company. They are a coach building company who do a lot of work for the Mercedes main dealer along with various private VW transporters.

Typically they fit non standard 2 & 1 seats to make the triple but I like the idea of the original VW triple seat as I viewed one a while ago that folded and also easily unlatched and lifted out. They are happy to fit this if I provide the seat (plus seat belts and fixing kit - they seem to know what they're talking about).
They will also raise the floor/vinyl it, soft furnish the interior, USB charger, 4 x LED lights which sounds perfect for my needs.

So my first questions are:-

1) Thoughts on the triple seat and any advice on where to buy / what to look for and do they all flip/drop and lift out easily (two people lift I guess).

2) Strange question but the T6 is very quiet compared to my older T5 - I'm reluctant to lose this although I guess I will to some degree due to the conversion but do I need to know anything about how the interior should generally be covered to keep the road noise down?

3) My thoughts were a thick ply bulkhead behind the rear seats (obvoiusly furnished cab side) to easily screw to from a racking point of view. Again any advice on this?

I hope I've posted this in the correct way :))

thanks in advance....

I'd go for the VW 2+1 set up, as long as you get one out of a T6 then they all fold flat. It will cost a bit more than buying a triple, but you can at least remove them on your own. Look in the for sale section on here, usually some for sale. Most people sell the complete kit, seats, belts, mounts and rubber floor. Alternatively, look on ebay.

The other option is to use Ford Transit custom rear seats, apparently they're much nicer than VW and better value.

The double seat of the 2+1 is pretty heavy - if I were doing this I’d go for the shuttle individual seats then you have complete flexibility.

A couple of companies I’ve used for seats are vanleisureuk in Coventry and Exploria in Brighouse. VW seats are expensive!

An alternative is to find a nearby disability convertor, who usually start with a shuttle and take the seats / brackets / belts out, and buy direct.

I recently sold a kombi ‘kit’ for 825 - 2/1 seats, belts, 8 floor brackets and floor mat. For a van you may need upper belt anchor plates and under floor strengthening plates to fit the above.

Thanks for this appreciate the feedback. I have to say my friend has the new Custom sport and its a very smart van, the trimmings are superb so worth bearing in mind

I must admit the removal of the rear seats will be rare and I can always get a lift so don't necessarily need the singles but I like the idea of the triple. I can lift my double seat into the T5 no probs so may rethink and go for the 2/1, one advantage I guess is I can leave one seat out most of the time for extra storage day to day
