Hello all,

Just joined so feeling my way but looking forward to my time here. I've just bought a 2017 T6 Kombie T32 and after 14 years with a Land Rover 110 its a quantum leap in comfort and tech thats going to take some getting use to but im loving it so far, i cant believe this is a 'van' it feels like a limo after my Landy.

I have already ordered the Bilstine package and some gorgeous 20" Bola wheels which are going on in a few weeks time :)

I cant get use to the start stop gizmo which seems to have a mind of its own...lol

One thing i would like to ask others is....is it me or is the drivers seat a little off center to the steering wheel? mine certainly is??

Welcome, I agree with start stop feature, its does have a mind of its own! lol

About to start my first diy job tomorrow...soundproofing, the van is very quiet compared to my last vehicle but im told these kits work well so i thought...why not. Im also going to remake the two rear side, factory, ply panels as the ones on now dont reach right down to the floor, there is about an 8" gap?

Then im going to use vinyl wrap to cover all the panels as i take them off, i wanted something different to the carpet look inside...if it goes well i'll post some pics, if it all goes horribly wrong ill just make some excuse up :D

Evening All, first post , picked up a 66plate 180 t32 only last week, never owned a van before but so far a journey to the coast from Stockport with two up front, 3 yr old niece lording It on the bench seat and 4 dogs in the load space, it was a revelation. It's VW's best keep secrect.
Mod's to do:
Sound proof - van has vinyl covered "cards" covering walls and roof - is there a kit to add sound proofing, or is is a job for the professionals?
Lowering - is there an out and out recommended option to improve both stance and comfort?
Wheels - no idea where to start to look..... again any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys and looking forward to the journey......

Ps dealer told me the stop start works when the electrics are not loaded - like running air con, or engine not warm enough etc.... just thought I'd mention it.

We also went from a 110 to a VW van - but a 2012 California 180 4motion.
We now have the 2016 Cali 204 4motion.
A slightly different approach to 4WD...

Our 110 but a bit of a duffer (2007 XS, everything went wrong) but I still miss it!

Hi and welcome to the madhouse..

With being a t32, please be sure to search out and read the threads relating to load rated wheels and tyres as well as suspension.. As well as speed limits to avoid unnecessary points on licence..

And welcome by the way.

Hi Rich, am Hazel Grove - can be found sitting on A6 in traffic and also down the never ending roadworks on St.Mary's Way..... black Kombi totally standard - for now.....

Tks Roadrunner for the advice on sound insulation, it's not bad, but is a bit too boomy for total comfort, and has a high frequency vibe on any surface less than m-way smooth which I think is just one of the panels that's needs nipping up, but just covered round trip of 500 miles in 24 hrs and I have to say I love it.......

Hopefully the new by-pass will make your life easier. I grew up in Heaton Moor but know the Grove quite well.

I work near Stanley Green on A34 but currently living in Warrington for my sins.

We will wait and see on the bypass......we have unused farm land behind our house which will now probably be developed because of the bypass.... I work in Reddish and know the Moore well... especially the Liz, the Plough, the Crown etc... ha ha

I own a house in Reddish just near Greg Street.

I frequent most of those establishments although I tend to go to the Nursery quite alot as I have gotten older.

Once I have my van next month keep an eye out for me, it shouldnt be hard to miss.

Small world, just moved from Houldsworth mill into Broadstone.... and yes the Nursery is prob now more my age group now....
Look forward to seeing a pic of the van - sounds like a major project?

Its the opposite, the van is a works lease so will be subtle mods due to it going back in 3 years. Been waiting months for it to arrive.

This should give you an idea of what to look out for...
