Hi All,

I am new to the VW Transporter scene & to be perfectly honest i have wanted a VW Transporter for quite a while now & have only recently been in a position to purchase one.
I have owned & drove many vehicles over my 30 years of driving history but in all fairness the new T6 is the most comfortable & car like van I have ever drove.
One of the main reasons i brought one is because i am disabled & cannot walk any distance, my health is not great & i needed a comfortable vehicle that could carry my large 65" long mobility scooter.
The VW Transporter T6 ticked all the boxes & so i have taken the plunge & brought the following .....
VW Transporter T6 Highline DSG
T32 4motion Lwb Bmt 204ps Kombi in Indium Grey.
It is a brand new kombi with loads of extras like twin electric side loading doors, power latching tailgate, LED front & rear lights, comfort dash with carpet in cab, App connect, the list goes on also including 2 free services.
I take delivery of it all being well on the 8th December

You have some really nice options on there, and the power doors is something I missed, and wish i'd of had.
LEDs are best option by far.
I got 3 services with my van.

Sounds great. Don't forget to get some pic's up when you get it.

Sounds great picked mine up 2 weeks ago T6 Kombi 150 highline dsg loads of options very similar to yours plus gone for swivel seats dust seals as well. Love it

Welcome aboard. Great choice of options (and colour of course ;)). Would be interested to see how you get the scooter in. Do you have an electric ramp ?

Can I fit the dust seals as a option myself ?
Do they make the doors quieter when shutting ?

I have brought a pair of ramps & a small 12v winch that will hook to the base of the rear seats frame so all good plus the ramps are designed to clear the bumper

Thank you all kindly,
I have been in contact with a company who will fit me my side bars, roof bars free of charge which will help me a lot as I am past lying under vans due to my health,
I am also contemplating changing my wheels from the standard 17" Devonports to either 18" or maybe even 20"
I will be buying quality rubber like Good Year, Dunlop, Pirelli etc with whatever size i decide to buy.

Question is Which would be best ??

I understand the ride would be firmer on 20" wheels but surely not extremely firm as I am leaving it on the standard springs ?
.... or would I be better lowering it with the 40mm cobra springs ?
I am looking for the best ride & also best handling option so I guess it is a case of getting the balance just right.
Personally I was just going to buy the 20" with quality tyres & leave the suspension alone ...
Any advice would be appreciated ?

Thank You

I had factory dust seals fitted and compared to a friends van there is a big difference, plus they are not as easy to shut. I believe you can buy after market dust seals.
