Internal fan stays on after switching off van

I have a T5.1 with climateonic climate control
The battery has been an issue running flat which I put down to the aftermarket headset.
My wife said she noticed the fan remaining on by the glove box when turning the van off. It appears to be an internal blower fan.
I have witnessed this a few times now, and resolves by turning the van on and off again.
I suspect this is the cause of the battery drain.
Any ideas if there is a quick fix for this. Or if in fat it’s normal.
Thanks in advance

He’s saying it’s probably an air quality sensor and he should load diagnostics reader to check.
Indeed, but it is a forum requirement to post in English.

hi, a fault where the fan runs even after the engine is off. vcds said air quality sensor. I put a new one in and it works now. I still had an error. fan excitation in the front. today I removed the resistor. I don't know how to test it, so I'll buy a new one.

Hi, I also had this problem and thought it worth confirming that replacing the heater/blower resistor fixed it. I got one from Amazon for less than £30 (part number 7L0907521B). Quite a simple job - whip off the passenger dashboard trim, undo two screws and swap it out.

Does your van have climatronic? I’ve read this but it suggests the fix is only for non climatronic vw

Hi - yes I believe so. This is what our control panel looks like and it's listed on websites as a Climatronic control panel.
For info, our problem has definitely been fixed by this. The fan was failing to shut off when we turned off the ignition, and the battery went flat over night. We replaced that unit and it now shuts off properly when we turn off the ignition. We haven't had the problem since, so perhaps it's the same problem as you?
Hope this helps
