Instrument Cluster Oil Warning Light not Working

Hi all,
The oil warning light on my instrument cluster has stopped working. Is this something I can change if I remove the dash or will it need to go to a specialist repair centre? 2017 T6 Transporter
Any help appreciated, thanks

Do you mean when turning ignition on?
Mine does not illuminate any oil warning light or symbol - when turning ignition on or off.
Mine is LHD so the cluster is different... perhaps someone with RHD can confirm if it's the same.

That is correct, no oil pressure light is lit during ignition cycle.
Same for LHD and RHD.

OK, so it doesn't come on when the ignition is switched, thanks.
We tested it and this fault code came up and then tried to make the light work via the tester but nothing, so still thinking the bulb has gone or maybe not?

Neither does my Instrument cluster support activation of oil pressure warning light. So perhaps just normal?

I don't think so.

this fault code came up
P164E - it says it's passive - if you clear it, does it come back?
Did you have any warning lights - flashing coil light?
-or-
Perhaps simply replace the Oil pressure regulating valve - it seems to be fairly common failure.

thank you that's really good advice. We cleared the fault and I will drive the van tomorrow to see if it returns and yes thinking about changing the oil pressure regulating valve, I'm guessing a good workshop could test it to see if its faulty.
I need to find a good local VW mechanic!

BTW what does a passive fault mean?

Passive = the fault has been logged in the past (since clearing fault memory).
Active = the fault is detected during current ignition cycle.
