In the market and very new to this...

I am new to the market and the forum. I have around 15k to spend on a combi or Caravelle - what year / spec etc, could I expect for this investment?
Any wisdom appreciated.

Hi, your more than likely going to be looking at a T5.1 rather than a T6 at that money
If you do find a T6 at that price it's probably going to be high miles

Also look at the spec, Highline has more extras....but obviously demands higher prices

Try searching private buyers, that way you might avoid paying vat so will also save you a few grand
Dealers may be a safer bet but prices will be higher and most are +vat

Look at shuttles aswell, tend to be cheaper than kombi.

What is a reasonable entry point for the T6 market?

The market is very strong at present and that is very much T5.1 money, although not much out there presently . A decent T6 with average miles will be high teens and upwards.

All depends if the OP can reclaim the vat? most commercial vehicles are subject to vat so it would be reasonable to apply that logic. Either way it's the cheapest T6 kombi on Auto Trader so it gives the OP an indication of what is available.

As mentioned, Shuttles are often sold as ‘Gross non VAT qualifying’ by VW Commercial. This is because the previous owner has not claimed the VAT back from HMRC, therefore the dealer cannot re-charge the VAT.
