Ignition live to remote on/off terminal of a Victron Energy Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30 DC-DC Charger (Non-Isolated). I am doing it right?

So you need to adjust your dcdc settings by small steps down.... I've even been down to 12.2v for the start voltage on a long drive.
Thanks for that - it makes sense of what I'm seeing. The danger of dropping the cut off point that low is that you might forget to set it back up when stopped. 12.2V is below the usual resting voltage of a battery, even at 80%.

I wouldn't mind if I could run the fan on position 2 - I usually do that anyway, but I have to turn mine up to 6 to get the voltage up & can only drop it to 5 before it falls off again. Makes for a noisy drive - not to mention inefficient.

Both my Vans rest voltage is around 12.1v to 12.2v

Based on the BM2 voltage loggers.
