I suspect driveshaft about to fail, how much more can I drive????

I'm hearing and feeling one knock from under the front as I start moving with half a wheel of lock, either way. Pulling away straight does not knock. a Bumpy surface might give a few more bumps. Once above 20mph, no knocks.
I suspect imminent driveshaft splines failure.
But I can't get if fixed for 3 weeks, so I'd like to hear opinions whether I can drive gently for a while.
I had the FOS shaft split splines last year, but I felt something not right with the gearbox before if failed, just occasional little bumps. That's not happenning here.
Once moving all seems fine.
Thanks. Derek

You could jack it up and check the backlash but it would be very hard to determine if it’s safe or reliable to drive, I understand that a garage maybe be booked up but surely they could do a 5 min inspection with a trolley jack.
Be careful with driving with a defective CV joint, I ignored a worn CV joint for far too long on a car and it broke up leaving me struggling to steer around corners, not a good feeling crossing the white lines.

The great problem around Yorkshire is that JCT600 have a monopoly, every dealer is JCT600, they operate a system where I have to book a "diagnostic" session, one hour at a cost of £115. Ther'se a 6 week wait for the Leeds branch. So all this informal quick"have an informal look" has gone. It's hard to actually get to chat to anyone with real knowledge, it's all on screen, tick boxes stuff, follow the procedure...

Have you got breakdown cover? If so pull over, make a phone call and wait for an expert opinion.
