How to remove/unclip the wiring tube between body and tailgate

Please can anyone tell me the right way to unclip either end of the rubber cabling tube between the body and the tailgate. I want to run the cable for the rear dash cam down it but am afraid of breaking it and not being able to clip it back in place.

Thanks.

Thank you, I have tried pulling at (quite hard) it but it doesn’t seem to want to budge.

I don’t want to say anything that causes you to break yours but mine definitely just pulled out. I ran a twin flex for some spots in mine - there isn’t much space mind!

That’s what worries me, I removed the same sort of thing on my caddy. That needed a flat blade screw driver to help it out. I ended up having to replace it which meant taking all of the wring out of the tailgate and threading it through my new rubber tube before refitting. That is a ball ache job.

What I was really hoping for against all the odds is that someone had a video of it being removed so I know how hard to pull- or not as the case may be.

We usually remove the rubber with a pick off the plastic inner frame, then it's easier to remove the plastic inner frame as you have more of a view of the tabs. I also use a snap-on nylon feeder and lots of wd40 if its a tight fit for the wiring.

On my T6, there’s a plastic frame on the front door bellows but not on the rear lid.

I wonder if it is year dependent then. So what years are the cars with plastic and this without, we may all learn something here
