Just out of interest, at 62 bought my first transporter after years of shall I and ooooh! Its a bit expensive? and now wishing I’d have bitten the bullet years ago, although l seem to be bitting it on a regular basis thinking l could just do with a ? And maybe a ? You all know the feeling, anyway l just thought who’s the fossil on here and who’s the embryo ?

I had a T2 Dormobile in my twenties. Then a kid so got a caravan then a motorhome, kid grew up so happy days and me and the wife decided to get a T6 to convert to a camper at 48 years old.

Been through all of the camping options, small tent, large tent, trailer tent, small tent, large tent then T5 8 years ago, now T6 last year. It seems just a natural progression. Oh, and still young at heart enough for some mischief. 67 years, yipppppeeee!

I thought I would quickly follow your post Richard as I now know I won't be the oldest member to declare their age! I'm 66 and I have recently bought a T6 based campervan. My previous vehicle was a Disco 2 which I owned for 18 years, I loved it but it went to a good home and is now earning it's living with a much younger person.

I have to say I love driving the T6, never thought a van could be so much fun to drive and the brilliant DSG gearbox now means that stop/start motoring is just so easy.

Have my very first van, a T6, under conversion at the age of 61; me obviously not the van.
Been into small tent camping but wanted to move on. Not been into motor vehicles at all though so it’s a bit of an adventure but as they say, it’s not a practice run.

58 had a T6 3 years seven years with a T25 before that
