My fridge last weekend in that heat was getting very warm, the numbers on the fridge are all over the place too!!

theres obviously no air at the back of the fridge when its pushed in to place… what do people do?!

The instructions with the fridge show the minimum air space at the back, bottom and top of the fridge. The void is ventilated by convection.
On my van I have a Dometic CRX50, there is a small gap under the fridge, a void behind the fridge and there is a gap of approx 10mm between the worktop and the side of the van.
In my case I removed the fridge after 4 years use on and off, while it was removed I cleaned out a fairly light coating of dust, evidence that convection is active.
It’s pretty important that the skin of the van body is well insulated behind the fridge otherwise the sun will heat this void.

Could you drill some holes high level LHS in the cabinet end and fit a stainless grill? Presumably that up against the drivers seat so hidden?

I've seen pictures of vents in the side at the back, pointing to the drivers seat.

I'm sure Eclipse did some custom cut vent thing.

I drilled a hole in the cabinet directly opposite where the fan is, and put a grille on it. It's behind the drivers seat so not visible anyway.
Later I fitted a small computer fan to that grille which now pushes air from the van interior towards the fan of the fridge.
It helps, but when the interior of the van is at 35°c plus, it's only going to help a little.

yeah that's what I was thinking of doing - that's good to know lads, cheers!!

I live in a warm/hot climate and I leave the drawer above my fridge slightly open when parked, as this allows the warm air to escape.

I added a 12v fan blowing on the fridge compressor and drilled a few 40mm holes and put a metal grille on each one.
As mentioned already try not to park with the fridge side of van in the direct sun as it heats up pretty quickly.

Ventilation will help prevent the fridge compressor running as much which will help your supply battery lasting longer.
