can some one tell me how to tell which engine i have in my 2018 T6 Bi turbo Multivan please, the engine number on the cam belt cover says CFC167330 , the sticker by the air filter says it was made in June 2018
I have been reading some horror stories about the T5 and T6 CFCA engines caused by badly designed EGR coolers causing the engine to fail at 60,000 miles .. can i identify a faulty EGR cooler from the outside?

2018 it'll be a CXEB, which unfortunately has it's own horror stories, if you're still on low mileage you might be able to prevent the worst

Have a look in here:

Engine is the CFCA.
the sticker by the air filter says it was made in June 2018
What's the VIN - please post 11 leftmost digits: WV1ZZZ.... or WV2ZZZ.... the 10th digits tells what model year it is. For MY17 it would be "H", MY18 "J"

Look down in engine bay - by oil filter you'll see EGR cooler sticker - 03L 115 512 D - revision "D" is the updated version. The infamous ones were engines installed with revisions A, B, C - up to August 2015.

You can safely say that it is faulty, even the Rev D EGR unit didn’t fix the issue.
At 60K miles if the engine isn’t consuming oil you may have a chance to prevent engine damage.
Have a Search on Tafmet, CFCA and oil analysis.
Once the EGR is taken care of the engine and bi-turbo unit are very reliable providing oil change services are done at 8-9K miles.
