Help.....

I can not help you mechanically there are those that could give good advice on here. My suggestion is to look for an Independent VAG Specialist. Far cheaper than VW Dealerships a probably more experienced too. Do a search of your wider area or if you do not mind loosing a little anonymity your approximate part of the country. their may be some that could point you where to take your vehicle. Also not perhaps for this issue or even for you but if people have a problem with a vehicle the year what it is and so on can be a great help to the brilliant Sherlock Homes fountains of knowledge and the Oracle when giving out the best advice.

That looks similar to the leak I had on my van.

It was a crack in the DSG gearbox casing.

VW attempted to repair it under the all-in warranty but the repair failed, so I ended up getting a new DSG gearbox fitted.

.

FYI I also add a separate leak ages ago and that was when they had replaced the gearbox when I had the dual mass flyer wheel done and they disconnected the oil cooler and the oil cooler o-rings were crushed and the DSG gearbox was leaking oil from there.

Oh shit, how much for a new casing you think?

You can't buy a new casing it's the whole gearbox assembly...

There is a specific TPI for the leak, and I procedure to follow to fix it.

In my instance the procedure was carried out twice but the crack in the case in was too big and it still leak so VW authorised a replacement.

I'm not saying that's what yours is you need to clean all of the oil off to then find out where the fresh oil was actually leaking from.

Could be coming from the oil cooler or it could be coming from the known issue with the DSG box where it could leak from the bolt hole... Or possibly be coming from somewhere else?

But the worry now is how much oil have you lost? Ours was recovered straight to Volkswagen under the all-in warranty as soon as the leak.

Yeah I have cleaned off what I can and put a new white rag underneath to see what comes off. It's not red so I'm guessing it's not gearbox oil and it only had a gearbox referb 6 months ago

Jeez! Thank you for your reply. It has a new gear spline set put in by a DSG specialist 6 months ago and it runs like a dream.

I'm just hoping it's a seal somewhere or the transmission pan!
