After my thread last week about the door not locking/unlocking, I believed the roller hinge had given up leading to the door sagging.
I bought a new roller hinge from Van Parts Direct and have gone about fitting it today.

I opted to fit the complete part rather than just the roller, as I didn't want to have to faff about with the spring.

Now it's on, it won't line up and the detent peg in the door and the catch in the pillar won't line up.
I supported the door on the jack when I took it all apart and refitted it, but it's like the door is slightly too far out and needs to be pulled in.
I found a few how to guides for the type of door with the spring loaded catch in the runner, but mine is slightly different to what I found, presumably being a Kombi.

There is some vertical movement in the bracket, but nothing to make it go fore/aft. Do I need to some how get it slightly moved towards the rear of the van to pull the catch end in a bit? It's possible the door is sitting too low - I put a paint mark on the peg to see where it made contact with the catch.

I'm pretty sure I've got it lined up in the right place

Bloomin' 'eck that was more of a challenge than I thought it would be
One last job to do and that's to refit the tiny spring that allows the catch to hold the door on the striker plate in the sill

Have you managed?! Good effort if so and very brave tackling it.

Did you compare the original and replacement and perhaps took a photo?

I didn’t do anything sensible like take any pictures.
I don’t think I seated the roller correctly, so it was trying to sit in the striker.
Mind you, I did have to adjust the rear roller height anyway, so I’m glad I’ve learned something at least
