Hi all

I am Anthony from the Nerherlands. I am a proces operator, and i also have my own company in tuning and coding for vag, bmw, renault and ford. At the moment i drive a audi rsq3 sportback 2020 and is looking to trade it in for a T6 2.0 tsi l2h1 camper van.

Why a camper? Because here in NL taxes are a bit cheaper and insurance also 😅. And my wife and the kids want to do some road trips to spain. So the rsq3 is not the best option to do that.

Hope to read some more informatie about the T6 2.0 tsi 204ps with DQ500.

Sounds like a great plan. A family road trip to Spain would make great memories.
We love travelling round the real Spain and avoiding the big cities. It’s a fantastic country.

My sister lives there, and my other sister is going end of juli also to spain to live there so it also wil be for a familie trip not only vacation. But i want to see more countries in europe. Italy is also on the list same for Prague and Croatia.

But for now we are stil looking for a T6 TSI that fits for us.😅

We did 7 weeks in Italy and Croatia last year. Croatia is absolutely stunning.

Hi Anthony, this will be the best move you’ll not regret ! I bought a T6 sport line 2.5 L flying machine; for work & play !! So satisfied I bought another T6 2L 150ps Kombi 2017 leather spec. To drift into retirement. I’m a fabricator & kitted it out with my own Aluminium cabinets & lockable drawer system, to maximise space & usability for my 3 seater, & now designed & perfected a 180deg. Swivel on that seat; to use with my Tailgate awning; works perfectly all round.
I wanted to be minimalistic/light/adaptable & still pack the back with rubbish for tip runs.
I can also get 2 motorbikes in if I want, once I’m on site.
Got 600miles on 60% motorway/65mph ish which is way better that dsg
Pleasure to sit back & see the countryside
Any interest, let me know: Dave

My rsq3 sportback is a beast to drive with stock 400ps and 480nm, quatro dsg. But for me its more about the space. I also have a company so if i need my pelicasses with me, i now not have that mutch space in de trunk.. And ofcourse i can go on some road trips with the fam because its a camper so that also is a bit cheaper in taxes and insurance per month here in Netherlands. Wil safe at leats 74 euro's per month for only that.

I am stil in negotiation with the car dealer about the price they need to give back if i can trade in the rsq3. For now we have a big difference so hope after 2 weeks we can sit together and talk further because i have found one that have eveything we want:

Nog een welkom uit Nederland Anthony. :)

After a few decades in sporty BMWs I switched to a T6.1 L1 campervan (Tonke) as my daily driver 2 years ago. I always liked driving a van occasionally although I don't know why exactly, after a lifetime in lowered BMWs on Koni's, Pilot Sports etc. etc. :) There is something nice, feel good, a relaxing 'I don't have to' about driving a van. Sitting comfortably high and (more) straight up overseeing the world around you. In short, 'I never looked back' not missing any of the sporty cars for a second.

I did help my van to improve the handling, steering and comfort with decent wheels & tires and a coil-over set from Twin Monotube Project. Lowering the van some 7-ish cm and dialing in the spring preload (and shocks accordingly) to get the ride height F&R right (no saggy ass) and horizontal left/right as most campers tend to sit lower on the driver side (in Europe). This was a massive improvement of the van's overall ride.

Looking at the van you're looking at, it seems like it has some of that work already done! A TSI petrol too, they are not that common on Dutch roads.

Pics or it didn't happen:

Dankje wel!

My last 4 cars where al suv models (lynk&co 01, kia sportage phev, cupra ateca and now dlthe rsq3 sportback) so yes i also like the higher seat and for my wife its also better due to back problems.

The camper we found is indeed lowerd with springs and on 17 inch wheels. There are soms things it dont have like foglights, folding mirrors, mfsw but thats no problem to retrofit at a later moment. Its more about the power haha. I 100% wil put a stage 1 tuning with dsg stage 2 on a 2.0 tsi. I have done a lot of 2.0 tdi T6/T6.1 for tuning from 86ps/102/150 til 180ps so i sure dont want it to be stock.

Nice camper! Diesel or tsi also? I see a lot diesels but i prefere petrol because of the emission zones.

As you're in the business professionally, I understand you're putting it on stage 1 asap!

I'll take a well sorted chassis (not as easy as it might seem) over any amount of power any day but that's personal. Luckily, the stock Transporter chassis is atrocious for a camper so to the bar for improvement sits (very) low... 😂

Mine is a TDI 150 DSG. I picked the 150 as it's generally considered the most trouble free. Which is a relative term for TDI's in Transporters... It's still covered by factory warranty so I can't really touch it without risking that. Not sure if I would when it's out of warranty but I still have some time to go to figure that out. It's Euro6 so I'm good for a while regarding emission zones. And if you live in an emission zone (I do), campers with an 'SA' license (kenteken) are exempt from 'your' emission zone.

What I did do is get the DSG remapped by TVS - I'm sure you know them. The stock mapping seems primarily aimed at emission & fuel consumption resulting is a shifting pattern that makes the engine constantly lugging at too high gears/too low revs, effectively shifting the engine dead and very slow to respond. Even the dual-mass flywheel can't mask the vibrations from the lugging engine. The TVS remap solves all this. Very impressive.

Curious to hear if the deal for your van comes through! 🤞
