Hello and thanks for having me

Hi to you all,

After what seems like years of trying to find something suitable camper wise to park on our limited front hard standing, it appears that the answer was staring us in the face all along. A Transporter based day camper. I'm guessing I won't be able to contribute much wisdom being a newbie but may I thank you all in advance for providing the content for me to read through.

All the best,
Pete Springfield

Hi and welcome to the forum! You’ll find lots of help here. Post a pic of your van

Many thanks for the welcome. No van yet, still figuring out where to buy from and how to finance. Missus has set her heart on new but the prices sure are eye-watering. NMA campers are very close to me and wonderfully helpful plus we are both mightily impressed by the Bilbo conversions with the tiny built in loo.

Thanks again and I will post a pic when the new arrival is settled in.

As promised, a pic of "Tourtoro", our new T6 from Caledonian Campers.

Never expected to fork out for a new vehicle but the reputation and the A1 treatment from Caledonian Campers made it an easier decision for us. I bought totally remotely and didn't see the van in the flesh until we arrived and then drove back 450 miles to Portsmouth so if anyone ever wants to talk about dealing with the company, I'm all yours.

Finally a shout out to Mr (I assume) interbear for the recommendation to look at Comfort Insurance. LV were cheaper but exactly as noted, I wasn't confident they were clear on what they were dealing with. This might be an unjustified worry but Comfort were telling me about features on my Van I didn't know I had and they were cheaper even than my old Citroen Picasso!

And it's Toutoro (totoro) as it's big, grey and hopefully keeps us dry :)

Happy motoring to you all.

Thank you John,

Here's a couple of snaps taken at pickup. Still feeling our way at the moment so can't offer anything showing us wrestling with the awning or the bed having not read the instructions properly. As it's now a bit quieter post Easter, will be heading out to New Forest for a "shakedown" trip although it's very much intended as a day van so no hardcore overnighting for us.
