Heater Blower doesn’t put out much air

Hope I am in the right section - looked and couldn't find any answers to this - T6 2019.

The blower for the heater works initially on all speeds and heat/air conditioning - air comes out the right vents.

However travelling through Spain/France in indicated 34/36 degree heat, with the air conditioning on, after about four hours of driving - the blower is still working at all speeds - can be heard blowing strong at full speed - however there is very little air coming out of the vents - with air conditioning on it is still cold air.

Any ideas - just shutting down because of the external heat!

Maybe a solution - after two days of the same - on the second day after stopping I noticed some "water" dripping on the passengers footwell (left hand drive) - dipping a finger in the leak and a quick tongue test it tasted of coolant - I felt up where the pipes come through the bulkhead and these was what appeared to be a leak - I squeezed the soft rubber hose which appears to be the drain for "condensation" and poked a finger in the outlet of the tube in the engine compartment at the bulk head.

Two days running in 34 degrees heat for a couple of hundred kms each and all appears to be well!

Haven't had time to get the air conditioning looked at - it has been working up to now.

The same thing happened today as before - when lifting the bonnet the unit circled with arrows point to where it has been drip drip dripping fluid.

So being booked in when our mechanic gets back from his holidays.

As a matter of interest does anybody know what is behind this unit or what it is part off, as I can't see anything in parts bair-con-leak.webpooks!

Also couldn't help but looking - took the cover of under the dash - pulled of the bottom drain hose and quiet a lot of water/condensation came out - cleaned the inside of the hose again and the water started dripping out. After an hours stopping the air is coming out the vents again!

There must be a blockage in the drain pipe or the end of the drain might be misshaped so it blocks easily. For a quick fix why not stick a straw/pipe in to keep the drain open

Hi Aboutye! I think I have the same problem on my T6...

It occurs either with or without AC, hot or cold.

The airflow out of the vents is generally good for the first 15-20 minutes or so, then I hear a slight change in sound (similar to when you push the recirculation button), and the airflow from the vents becomes minimal (despite the blower still sounding like it's blowing with the same power).

I've not had a good poke around yet, and have not noticed any obvious water drips in the footwell. I'll certainly keep an eye on that next time I'm out.

Did you find a definitive answer on what the problem was with yours?

Thanks

Hi T_J

I tried the recommendation in the threads of sticking a straw up the drain pipe and as was said the drain pipe may have gotten mishapen.

I ordered and fitted a new on no issues since.

Bearing in mind mine is LHD a RHD one on EBAY is part no 7H2820752 and not that expensive.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply. Glad you got it sorted! Can I ask, did you only have this problem with AC on? Or was it the same for non-AC and heating?
