Headunit Issues / Halo 11

@Dav-Tec @Absolut5 @bikepar - I guess at some time in the near future I'll need pay to get the old clocks fitted again (I do have them). At least then I'll be able to determine if issues remain.

I believe they will remain as the main two issues are:

extremely slow booting of infortainment after a night "off" - today, 18mins

Inability to assign primary user in we connect "contact customer support"

This will probably just never end

I stand corrected!.

I say it's up to you how you play it. That said VW will do anything to get out of warranty issues so if ADAS goes wrong later they'll blame the aftermarket radio. Also I'm still pretty confident doing this will upset ADAS and make it non functional ask @BikerPa about this we had lots of issue and difficulties get VW to rectify this
I have the Alpine Halo 11 ilx f115d fitted in my 2023 T6.1. Since early May ACC, Front assist, engine stop/start showing unavailable. 3 months it took me to see local VW dealer to tell me what I already know. Lost communication between sensors. They say between aftermarket rear view mirror and front signal which I believe to be radar behind front bumper. I've been told there's no sensor behind mirror that communicates with radar sensor.
My Alpine was fitted in November last year. Would it have any cause for the lost communication to ACC etc? I can't get into some functions on Alpine screen [IQ DRIVER ASSISTANCE].

The Alpine being touch screen, the back button don't always work or X close window.

Is it just a coincidence as they removed the factory media system and additional leads were needed for the Alpine.

I will see the shop who installed the Alpine next week to ask about warranty etc

In the meantime I've emailed head office of VW dealer about their service and reminded them of the warranty. Yes, LV bumpers fitted, aftermarket rear view mirror fitted with built in dashcam. It's a headache for sure. T6.1 purchased brand new and nobody can tell me why I've these faults. All working perfectly for 12 months. Although Alpine in November.

Sorry to take your thread but googled problem and this thread popped up. Any feedback will be much appreciated.

If it was the Alpine installation it would have showed up straight away.

However if the halo is a bit glitchy, there is a newer firmware available on their site. But has nothing to do with the overall issue

They have taken bumper off and dashboard. Absolutely nightmare. To find the source.

Thank you - and would you advise getting the outstanding issues fixed with VW first?
Apologies I have no idea how the "system" works, all I know is they tell me the boot delay issues are caused by the SOS module -and an independent VW specialist said it was more likely the "5F" module
I have the Alpine Halo 11. My ACC and front assist have been 'unavailable' since May. For 6 months since Alpine professionally installed I had no problems. I eventually had to go via VW as warranty is until June 2026.
Today, I will find out if it's the ACC unit or Alpine. Loss of communication is what diagnostic is showing. This could cost me £1k if its not VW parts that are faulty. I will find out today. Here's the video VW sent me. It's VW Sinclair's which is a franchise I guess.

That’s a horrible mess of an Alpine install, that lot of cables and boxes should be mounted where the discovery media module sits behind the glovebox/centre console for a neat install

Even so i cannot see it’s to do with the audio , as that just displays info , settings etc and never seen a fault caused but a Alpine install using all the correct parts

It's all good now. Collected van today. It was the radar sensor behind front bumper.
Why they took Alpine out and dashboard apart I don't know. Charged me £276 for the removal of Alpine and dashboard. Not queried why. Sent an email to VW customer services who I've been liaising with. Hopefully they can get fees back as it was proved to be a factory part.

Because the first thing they always blame is anything that is non Oe

Glad it’s all sorted..
