Head unit advice required please

I have recently bought A new head unit for my polo daily driver. The guy told me all I would need is an Alpine to Volkswagen harness and it will plug and play. Obviously this isn’t the case! If you look at the picture you can see that there seems to be way more sockets then there are plugs. Can someone help me please before I do some damage !

looks like all you got in the loom in your hand is the 4x speakers and possibly 2x powers and a ground?

is the Polo CAN bus or does it have an IGN feed at the radio?

you might need a CAN bus adapter.

I have no idea what it is‍? The blue part of the plug on the right of the pic which is coming from the car, doesn’t plug into anything on the harness...so that’s probably the issue

Once plugged in there’s still loads of loose wires not going into anything, I think this is gonna go back to where it came and I’ll live with the rubbish factory stereo

That blue plug is either a cd changer input or a phone input according to Google. Send a message to @Absolut5, he will know for sure.

if you are installing a alpine, then the blue part won’t come into it.

pictures of the loom wiring would help.. is it a CanBus one or a basic one with a loose red and orange wire ?
