Haldex service done. Diffs to do

I know nothing about the Haldex, but I think it's to do with 4Mo ... is that an actuator and housing? What's all the black stuff from? How often does it need doing?
Yes, it's a haldex pump From a 4motion. I don't know what the Black goo is but it's not good. Should be done every 40k I think .

It's gooey. Van has done 123k miles. I've only had the van a month. I'm trying to service everything that's been missed.
Going to get mine done at the next service.
Mine was a company lease van, no idea if it was done by VW in it's first 3 years. Nothing to day it was in the paperwork.
