Hi loz,got the same van as you.Got a fault come up on no1 cylinder glow plug.where is this one? it it the one with the sensor on?You can meter the glow plugs and check their low resistance. That would tell you if it is the glow plug or the wiring.
Get the one that’s failed replaced, there is no need to change them unless they have failed.I’ve just been quoted £470 to replace all the glow plugs, more pricey than I was expecting. Now the van is dismantled they have found one of them seized in place. It’s another £540 to get a specialist company to remove it.
I’m interested to hear if anyone else has had this done and what sort of cost it was.
If it is a typical service life it’s piss poor, I’ve got a 22 year old A4 on the same glow plugs it was born with.I did wonder about that, but also thinking with 95k miles on the clock maybe they will all start to fail if they have similar lifespan?
