Think I've bought a van. Just need to go and have a test drive and start looking at insurance with Agreed Value (if that's possible). Any decent companies out there?
Thanks mate! Was yours with Agreed Value?I'd recommend Howdens, for me the most competitive at £570.00 opposed to >£1k quoted by others. I used Alicia at the Evesham branch, she was great to deal with.
Thanks, I'll give Adrian Flux a call.Try Adrian Flux too. They have been the best for me by far since I got the van. Agreed value too.
I think it depends on the underwriter as it’s changed a little each time I’ve renewed with them. Previous 2 policies I needed an add on by Trinity Insurance (iirc) to bridge the gap. This time the agreed camper value is included. I wasn’t particularly asked that many questions about the conversion either but have made sure to declare everything from splitter to solar panel!Flux will pay market value for a van as a camper, not just as a bare van, but they ask 101 questions about the spec, who converted it, etc, which is fair enough.

I would say nothing mechanically with that milage should be like brand new. Thanks everyone for all the pointers, tips and advice, all has been gratefully received
I am going to look at the van tomorrow and go for a test drive, it's a 150ps T6.1, auto, is there anything I should look out for etc?
Also, should I get a vehcile check like AA or RAC check of the van etc. Its 1 owner from new, was leased and sub 1k miles and full VWSH and has 1 year VW manufacturer warranty remaining...
I'm not paying the balance yet, I've only paid a holding deposit via credit card.
Theres a couple of bits they have to do, they've told me it's just been serviced this week.
I've never driven a modern transporter, only a T2 1979 ha ha
So any tips, pointers etc when I test drive will be welcome,
Muchos gracios everyone![]()
