Had a problem with my Gel Coat West Dubs Pop-Top fading. I was looking at getting it wrapped for about £450… I stumbled across this product and though for £22 for a 500ml tub nothing ventured nothing gained.

Wow, what a result, I haven’t got a good picture of before but it was pretty bad and now you’d never know it had faded so badly.

I initially did one coat and it was instantly restored to the gloss black shine that it used to be.

I’d highly recommend this product and it couldn’t be easier to apply.

Worth every penny. I applied a second coat as in my haste I missed some small sections but the second coat took me 10 mins max.

I know it’s only been a few weeks but how is it weathering? owatrol has been in and out of my Amazon basket several times but thinking I’ll give it a go

So far so good, just done a week in Newquay with plenty of sea salt and sand blowing over it and it still looks spot on.

I tried it and it faded away over 2-3 weeks which is a shame because for those 2-3 weeks it looked brand new. I think a wrap is the way forward.

I did two good coats and it’s still held up pretty good. A 500ml tub will go really far so I’ll just keep applying a coat every few months to stay on top of it.

I do mine every spring and autumn and it holds up well.

Ordered son which arrived in the week and just read the instructions which say to prep with deck cleaner before application. Done a Google search and it comes up with timber decking cleaner. Would liquid work as a cleaner/degreaser? What did you folks use?

I had a detailer wash it and he used a good degreaser and then microfibred dry, mine was really dull and flat. I applied it within the hour of it being washed so it was still really clean. I’m very impressed with how well it has come back to a gloss finish. It was terrible and really impacted the overall look of the van

I use a rag with w weak washing up liquid solution.

Just done a coat of Owatrol this afternoon. Instructions said to rub it off after 10-20 mins but the bit I tried looked Matt black again so I’ve repainted that and hoping it will dry as a shiny roof? Finished about an hour ago and just started drizzling so hope it will be okay getting wet. Wasn’t bloody forecast

I tried similar stuff and it didn’t last. Ended up wrapping it. Job done

It lasts well enough on mine, but then with me it's preventative as isn't faded to begin with.

I don’t mind doing it a couple of times a year - found it quite therapeutic and it looked great before it rained
