I’m new to Transporters. I’ve had several Vito’s over the last 20 odd years. Always fancied a Transporter but was put off by the price delta on the market.

Anyhoo, recently bought a very nice T6.1 (LWB, late MY22, 10k miles). I love it but find the fueling off a closed throttle very shonky. It’s still in factory warranty but seriously thinking about a custom remap and I’ll have a dig regarding EGR/add blue delete.
 
You'll have to think a long time. No one in the UK has cracked the Bosch ECU used in the 6.1. There is an outfit in France(?) that allegedly does it but it means sending off your ECU.

So,for the present time at least, you're stuck with it.

The Adblue on the 6.1 isn't so prone to problems as the 6, but isn't immune. Most (but not all) 6.1 adblue issues arise when the owner attempts a refill - taking care to only fill the amount the display instructs you to, and following the instructions in the hand book are crucial. Again, because no one here has got their head round the ECU you're stuck with it.

What gearbox do you have?

DSG? It’s an automatic anyway…

And I didn’t realise there was so much witchcraft going on when filling the add blue tank! Before a recent drive down to Italy I just brimmed the f***er just like I always did with my Merc’s… eeek 🤣

Pretty sure at least one person on the forum has applied the same mod on a DSG variant - the same irritating/pointless constriction in throttle travel applies, so presumably the same mod.

Is that the DTE PedalBox? Can’t see anything on their website saying it doesn’t work with DSG gearboxes.

The only thing I didn't like about my T6.1 was the annoying 'kickdown' resistance in the accelerator pedal. There's no good reason to have it fitted on a vehicle with a manual gearbox, so I thought I'd work out what causes the resistance and get rid of it. I didn't want to risk breaking my accelerator quadrant and being stuck without my van, so I bought a 2nd-hand one form eBay so I could do my research and it worked out perfect - I figured it out really quickly. It gives so, so, so much finer throttle control.
