Fuel leak when engine turns off

Hi,
My 19plate is currently with VW as it has occasional laboured cranks and struggle to start. Apparently today they said It gets a fuel leak when the engine turns off so that's why I struggles to start the next time. Has anyone heard of this or had similar experience before?

Leaking injectors draining pressure from the fuel rail into the cylinders, then it takes a while for pressure to build back up before it will start again. I have had similar issues on my works van ( non VW)

You could try injector cleaner or ultrasonic cleaning first over changing injectors as a potentially cheaper option.

You need to ask the mechanic if the ‘fuel leak’ is via an injector or rail pressure regulating valve.
A leaking injector is going to damage the engine and contaminate the engine oil.
I would get it fixed asap.
