Front Grill Chrome Strip Replacement Black

Hi

Newbie here, after picking up my first T6 caravelle I want to make a few changes. First off, remove the two upper chrome grill trims. I'm aware the bumper needs to be removed but does any know where you can get replacement black trims?

Or does everyone just get these wrapped or paint them themselves ?

Needs to be looking like the photo (AI image) on the left

Ah, I have a Caravelle with chrome strips. Doubt that I would remove them but may at some stage buy a bageless grill because the VW badge thing is way too big and would get in the way of any LAZER Lamp additions that I may want to put in the Lamps I am interested in are full width of the grill. I doubt that replacement would have the chrome strip. If it was an option I would not opt for them nor the badge but would only bother to remove for a functional; reason not for style. Not really into style over substance more towards functionality.

I stuck red tape on my middle line with line left in place, it's still there 4 years later, don't over think it.

Just use a trim tool. They come off pretty easy. You can be surprisingly rough. They are quite strong.

Just to bump this, I want to replace mine but always thought you had to remove the bumper. Will trim tools work? Im not bothered if they break, I just don't want to break the grille

Doesnt popping off the chrome trims reveal the hole that they clip into ? Seen this van in a car park the other day. This is how I want it, surely someone must know how to get to this stage - this doesn't look like its been clipped off as you have step change ?

I removed my lower chrome strips yesterday, just popped a trim tool underneath and pulled with my hand. It does leave clip recesses yes but I'll be adding gloss black trims in place of the chrome

Wasn't sure on popping the trims off but found the correct upper grill I wanted part 7E0 853 651A
Fitted last night and spot on ....after looking behind I wouldn't even attempt to pop off the chrome parts !

Was it a bumper off job to change the upper grille? Seen a gloss black grille I like but it says you need to remove the bumper

Yep it was you have no way of getting to the clips from the front.
First time I've took my bumper off and it's really easy
