Folkestone Services anyone?

I haven't got an ACSI card, most of our accom is prebooked, but there are 2 nights we need to wing it. Reviews don't seem that favorable? Should I?
Depends how long, when and where you’re going. Can be a bit of a performance to cancel the auto renewal IMO, that said the last time I used it was a few years ago.
Plenty of very nice free places in France and Spain which is where I mainly head.

I'm going to save the 19 euros this time and aim for free-ish aires I think... a toilet is all the girls need need! I will certainly see what the value missed will be on the Arthur ACSI card.

IMHO, it's a no brainer. We've used ACSI for years and have never really found a truly bad site, basic yes but never really awful. Also we never pre-book as we only ever travel out of season (or late in high season) - IIRC we've only been turned away from one site in all our travels (although I suppose technically not turned away I called them from a ferry going from one Croatian island to another and they told me that they were full so we diverted to another site). I think you can buy a digital subscription and accompanying IOS or Android app for immediate use nowadays but we prefer having an old fashioned paper subscription which comes with books that you can thumb through. That said, I also put the apps on phone and iPad for belt and braces.
PS. If you pre-book, I think they usually see your ACSI card on arrival and then give the discounted cost.

Our ticket looks pretty inflexible, earliest check in is an hour before 'gates close'
I generally also only buy fixed tickets and just plead dumb when I'm at the ticket window that i didn't know how early to arrive :-) it has been a few years though, so they might be wise to that now and send you back out again.

Again, sorry, just seen this. You might want to give them a call to check but my understanding of the meaning of '+1 Hour' in the standard ticket terms is that you get to check in up to 1 hour LATE but if you arrive more than 1 hour early, they will always try to put you on an earlier train if space is available. The next level flexi ticket gives you scope to be up to 4 hours late. One other thing to bear in mind is that although the new EES is not operational yet, there is apparently a very small chance that you could get nabbed to go through it as a guinea pig. That happened to someone I know a couple of weeks ago and they got held up enough to miss the allocated [earlier] train and wound up on the same one they had originally booked.

Yes, standard ticket, +1 hour, I won't tell the wife! Never liked Guinea pigs. Thanks @Ayjay

I should have included a disclaimer 😁

*Obviously ANY and ALL advice from me needs further looking in to as it 'could' be complete rubbish* 🤪..

We went to a CAMC site recently that also did this , we were advised on check-in (not before) .
When we email customer services we got the same bull shit back about checking the before you travel crap .

I can't believe it wasn't clear on the booking form.

Maybe a frequent user who skipped through the booking and missed the info?
I think it´s a bit strange to link back to the carvanclub "before you travel information" to check for "works that may impact your trip" and then offer 20% AFTER a complain so they are clearly after the full rate.
