Flux Rib?

On my bike

We are getting a Flux Rib 112cm sliding bed when we get our van converted. Wil I be able to fit a porta potti under the bed?

I know It will need a false floor and was hoping I might still have enough height, has anyone got one and done this?

Thanks Richard

Hi Richard

When I planned my conversion I was originally planning on fitting the full sliding flux style RIB but was told about the pros and cons.

Cons :
  • you lose height in the van due to the extra flooring needed for the floor rails.
  • Bits keep getting in the rails causing the slider to jam
  • Seat belts are only usable when the flux rib is in one set position
  • Not enough space underneath for the thetford 335 portaloo

The 200mm slider also has additional metal supports under the bed preventing the 335 fitting.

The standard RIB has just enough height underneath to house the thetford 335

I have however seen some solutions where the 335 is housed in a box made to look like a footstool. You don't know it's a portaloo until you remove the top cover of the footstool.... So there are solutions if you're set on getting a flux slider.

Hope this helps and good luck. !

Hi Thanks, looks like I will have to re think the toilet storage. I need the Flux as I need to be able to keep bikes in the rear of the van.

I am now thinking of getting a Cali style fridge and using the cupboard where the fridge would normally go for the toilet. Might be my only option.

Thanks Richard

Depending on your width flux and if you're going for a full camper conversion you could look at getting the rear storage cupboard re-designed to house the portaloo....

It would mean access only with the flux fully forward, but might be better than losing the fridge...
