Flush fit windows

I have a camper van LWB T6.1 that was fitted with recessed opening windows both sides but i'm much prefer the flush fit versions

1) If anybody could help is it an easy job for a fitted to replace them without any damage

2) Any recommendations in the midlands to have it done

3) I was also told that I would need new Vanshade blinds as there are 2 different type for recess and flush fit windows, can anyone confirm if this is true

Thanks all

Hello

1. Its an easy job to remove and replace
2. Chris at @Dav-Tec is local to you I believe, and should be able to assist
3. There are two different van shades for different windows, but I would ask them for clarity - I thought (maybe incorrectly as I'm not an expert) that they were for OEM and non gen windows?

Hi

Vanshade website says i need OEM pod for the camper glass flush sliding window for sliding door

I am only guessing at the moment (95% sure) I do not have OEM pod for sliding door until I fully investigate

I was wondering if Vanshades pods we're fitted behind the driver side on campervan

Looking at mine the blind attaches to the rear of the splash back so I am hoping I only need 1 new pod

Serious question. If a flush fitted side window needs to come out of a 2 year old T6.1 what's the chances of damage as the window is so close to the body work. What is the right and easiest way? Is it with cheese wire? Also, what are the chances of rust occurring over time if the cut edges for the window rusting? Even if primed with anti rust primer? A newly installed window to my T6.1 has to come out because it was found to have just over an inch scratch not spotted when installed. Thanks

Did you manage to swap your side windows? My flush one was fitted this week on my T6.1 but I found a deep scratch on it. It is going to be replaced. Not happy really as the glass edges are so close to the bodywork. They use a cheese wire to saw the bonded adhesive then the task of removing hard adhesive on the body. The scratch was not spotted. So now I am a tad stressed. Ravenna blue, gorgeous colour potentially will occur paint damage removing window.

The cheese wire method is an outdated way of doing thing and a very unsafe way regarding your paint work

I had my glass fitted via s mobile guy called vision van windows and camper glass conversions

He uses an induction heater to heat round the glass to soften up the adhesive and pull the window off safely

He was a lovely bloke and did a perfect job

Wow!! Seriously? An induction heater and then it pops off? That's reassuring to hear.
