Flooring Advice

When I purchased my van, the carpet and flooring had been done. But over the last few months, it’s come up slightly on the join. I have a VW rug over it, so it’s never seen, but the floor is creaky and can be noisy at night times! I’d say the wood used is 9mm from the looks of it, but I don’t know what options I have can anyone recommend? I could cut a little square flap out of the carpet, screw it down, and cover it, but I’m worried about drilling into that location as the fuel tank is right below if I remember correctly. Taking the floor out isn’t an option at this time. Any advice?

If it’s been done the “typical” way it will be screwed to batons that are bonded to the floor, rather than directly being screwed to the metal.

If you remove the side step cover at the sliding door you will be able to confirm easily. Then you can decide how to tackle it.
