took my vehicle to the VW garage in Cheltenham today for its first inspection and oil change.
When I arrived home after collection these was an email for me with a little short video showing me the underside, the tyres, the drive shafts and brake wear etc with a commentary by the mechanic explaining what he could see.
I was really impressed and it gave me a visual assurance that they had done what they said.
All in all it was a very pleasurable experience and the service staff were both knowledgeable and helpful.
The only negative was they wanted £209 to upgrade my satnav to Apple CarPlay so I declined that option.

I have Discovery Media SatNav and the upgrade is to install Apple CarPlay, evidently it is already there but just needs ‘unlocking’ but at 209 it can stay locked!

There is more to it than that. You also need to change the usb leads, sockets and splitter box if you have more than one usb.

I did tell the guy that I had read that but he said as long as CarPlay shows as available on the SatNav it is merely a case of unlocking as all the parts are present. He went on to said they had done a few without any problems and the only time they got stuck was with an earlier version where CarPlay did not show as available in the menu.
But I know who I believe..........hence I didn’t part with 209 in case they charged even more for parts they hadn’t bargained for!
