Falken Wildpeak on 17 or 18" ?

It shouldn't be possible to have the same error at all speeds. The extra distance travelled will increase as a percentage so the speedo error will change too.

That's unusual. I've read a lot of these 235/65/17 threads and the only time that I recall the speed being more than 1 mph out (at high speeds) was on a 16" chassis.
okay, last post on the subject. at about 30 its actually doing 32, at 70 its about 75

Hi all,

Just as some extra info which may be useful

I find willtheyfit.com very helpful when trying to match summer/winter wheels of different diameters, together with different tyre options.

Please see image below of a stock size (235/55/17) vs the Falken Wildpeaks in 235/65/17, and also vs a 235/60/17 option, (Cooper Discoverer ATT) which is closer to stock.

Happy to have the spare as a normal (non-AT) whatever will fit best in the carrier and also keep rolling diameter close to 235/65/17 wildpeaks.

Yeah have also read alot about 235/65/17 being the limit before speedo starts undereading, maybe you were originally specced with 16s? @FerrisBFW

Revising an old thread wanting to see how you are all getting on with your Wildpeaks on stock 17" wheels?

I too am toying with the idea of going with the STeel GPs powder coated satin black with 235/65/R17s on a T6.1 T32 Kombi.

How many of you have spacers to stop rubbing?

I run spacers however I had them pre-Wildpeaks when was running the same Devonports with the LV styling and the wheels looked "lost". Just kept them on when moved over to the Wildpeaks (on same rims)

I have recently fitted Devonports with 235/65/17 Wildpeaks to my T32 Kombi. Mine had Sportline 30mm drop springs fitted when I bought it. I haven’t fitted spacers and experience no rubbing.

I am in two minds whether to bother with spacers at all as the chunky tyre fills the arch more than a standard tyre, in both height and width.

I have 235/65/17 wildpeaks on VW Devonports and they rub on limit of steering, 15mm spacers and extended wheel studs from Transporter HQ sorted it, Looks better too, I run 42 psi as an aside.
You wont get one underneath as a spare so keep the original spare in place for limping to a tyre fitter, I always have a spare new Wildpeak waiting at home.
Done 25k miles with them and still 50% wear left, Good in the wet, wouldn't go back to standard tyres.

I want some of these on my Davenport’s for winter, how are they in snow?

Also what’s the best size to get for these wheels?

Dont even think about other tyres. Wildthingy's are amazing tyres, summer, snow, wet, just go and buy them

Still love mine. Hand painted by me on nearly new GP’s. Cheap as chips and get so many nice comments about my dented van and its wheels. No spacers, stiffest almost new again springs in the back, stock front.

Just back from the French Alps four up big adults, six bikes and a ton of luggage. New BiTDI engine on a DSG 4motion c33mpg (calculated by Fuelio. Guys were super impressed with my old van.

Tyres give it a more long legged feel and soften up the harsh poly bush feel.

Do it!!!
