I'm in the market for an event shelter type thing. I've narrowed it down to 2 options (other suggestions welcome).
My two options are both Outwell:
A: Outwell FASTLANE 300 Shelter
This is a poled shelter, with sides and a groundsheet included. Its 3Mtrs x 3Mtrs square. Has the option to add a bit that makes it like a drive away awning.
UPF50+, 1500mm Hydro head.
Pack size: 112 x 23 x 23 cm
Weight: 15kg
B: Outwell AIR SHELTER
This is an air shelter - Single inflation point. Its more money that the FASTLANE poled shelter above and doesn't include sides or a groundsheet. I asked Outwell, you also can't have an option to attach to the van rail like you can with the FASTLANE.
UPF 30+ (lower) 3000mm Hydro Head (higher). So more rain proof but less sun shade!
Pack size: 69 x 27 27 cm
Weight 8.3KG
The air shelter overall costs more money (£180 more) and doesn't have the option to attach to the van.
However, its lighter, packs smaller and its air so I assume it goes up and down really easy?
Does anyone have any experience with either of these shelters they would be happy to share please? I've got some money burning a hole in my pocket but can't decide.
Any help/advise welcome. I have looked at the various posts about shelters and setups but still unknown hence the direct question.
