Cinch hub/event shelter to replace driveaway awning?

We currently have a S+S tarp for overnighters, and a Vango Kela awning for longer trips. Kela always feels like more hassle than it's worth, especially with the pack size. I'd be quite happy to have a standalone shelter, which could be attached to the awning rail if we wanted. Main use is storage of child car seats, cooking stuff etc, as well as a space in the evening to sit, so needs to be weatherproof, but we wouldn't be sleeping in it. Would be good to hear from others who have gone away from the normal driveaway awning setup to something freestanding.
Ideally I'd still want to have the option to attach to van to keep any picky campsites 😊

I use a Quechua Base Seconds tent sometimes instead of my driveway inflatable thing. Doesn't attach to the van but you can get really close. Don't think they make them anymore though.

Cinch is the newer version of the Quechua base seconds made after Decathlon stopped that model. The base second has always been popular, relatively simple to put up and folds down relatively quickly once you get used to the sequence. I wish the campervan adaptor fitted the Quechua but as far as I can see it doesn’t.
