Erwin is cutting us off

I was annoyed to see an email from VW / Erwin telling me they're stopping access to private customers.
So not only do they not have fuse diagrams in the owners manuals, now they're preventing us trouble shooting our own vehicles. 🤯
I've had to resort to finding details on Erwin a few times, although thankfully I can usually find what I need in this forum thanks to our wonderful members.
I'm not sure this new development meets the growing requirement for "right to repair" but it seems in keeping with their behaviour in my experience.
Not happy, (Unless someone can explain that I misunderstood the email!)
Grumpy David.

Here's the email I got...
Dear erWin User,

We would like to inform you that, as of 18-12-2025, the erWin Webshop will no longer be available to private customers but exclusively to business customers.
Of course, you may continue to use your active flatrate subscriptions until the end of their contractually agreed term – even beyond the above-mentioned discontinuation date.
Should you have any questions, please contact our support team at Captcha .
Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards,
Your erWin Team Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft

Kind regards, my @rse.

They have to provide product data to 3rd party repairers on fair terms under the R2R regs.

However, as the UK are transitioning away from EU law it doesnt apply in full over here. Its a bit convoluted but the right to product data for motor vehicles doesnt apply to us private citizens.

I'm not in the UK - just in the colonies. 😛🦘
What's all this talk about citizens having rights?? 🤦‍♂️

Just started another thread on this then saw one was already started.

We need to complain in writing.

This is really bad. Access to repair information is key to keeping motoring affordable and doing professional safe repairs.

I understand the concerns with high voltage vehicles but that’s not a reason to lock out owners from being able to take care of basic service work and modification of the 12v systems.

Done - Complaint / pleading request submitted.
I pointed out that my owners manual doesn’t even show me which fuse is which any more so how can I fix these basic issues without their resource that I happily pay for when I need it.
Feckers.
